About this event

This webinar is for innovators in AI, who have technologies that are aimed at providing solutions in social care, and who are interested in applying to the Artificial Intelligence in Health and Care Award.

The third competition for artificial intelligence technologies to receive funding through the AI Award is open until 7 September 2021. Find out more about the Award, how to apply and the selection process, and discuss how AI can help meet people’s care needs.

The Award is open to technology companies, researchers and developers, to apply for help to develop and test AI products. About the AI Award

The Artificial Intelligence in Health and Care Award is one of the NHS AI Lab programmes, led by NHSX. The competitive award scheme is run by the Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC) in partnership with the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The AI Award is making £140 million available over four years to accelerate the testing and evaluation of artificial intelligence technologies which meet the aims set out in the NHS Long Term Plan.

The AI Award is part of the £250 million funding given by the Department for Health and Social Care to NHSX to establish an AI Lab aimed at improving people’s health and lives.

Awards have been made to 80 technologies from the two rounds of competition to date, and committed over £95m. The AI in Health and Care Award will increase the impact of AI-driven technologies to help solve challenges in the delivery of care, improving health outcomes, and operational challenges. Four ‘phases’ of award are available to support AI solutions from initial feasibility to evaluation within NHS and social care settings. The aim is to speed up the most promising technologies through the regulatory process by building an evidence base to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of AI-driven technologies in health and social care.
